About The Drop Harrogate
The Drop Harrogate turns navigation into the challenge itself. Participants surrender phones, watches and maps before being transported by bus to an undisclosed drop point outside Harrogate, then navigate their own route back to the event centre using only personal judgement and knowledge of the landscape. Three distances are available: 6, 10 and 15 miles measured as straight-line drops, though actual routes will be considerably longer depending on the choices made on the ground.
Taking place on 21 March 2027, the event unfolds across trail and urban terrain across the North Yorkshire countryside surrounding Harrogate. With no markers, guidance or navigation aids to rely on, participants face a demanding and unpredictable return journey that rewards route planning and local knowledge.
