About The Drop Norwich
The Drop Norwich is a navigation challenge rather than a conventional race. Participants are transported by bus to an undisclosed drop point outside the city and must find their own way back on foot, choosing their own route across Norfolk's landscape. The straight-line distances are 6, 10 or 15 miles, though actual routes will be considerably longer depending on the decisions made on the ground. With no navigation aids, markers or guidance—and personal phones, watches and maps surrendered beforehand—runners rely entirely on their own judgment to navigate the trail and urban terrain back to the event centre. The experience combines trail running with self-navigation across the Norfolk countryside and surrounding areas. The event takes place on 10 January 2027.
