About The Drop Oxford
The Drop Oxford is a unique navigation challenge for runners who enjoy finding their own way. Participants are bussed to an undisclosed drop point outside the city and must return to the event centre entirely unaided, without phones, watches or maps. Three options are available: 6, 10 or 15 miles as the straight-line distance, though actual routes will be considerably longer depending on the choices made on the ground.
With no markers, signage or guidance, runners must rely on their own judgement to navigate back across Oxfordshire's mix of trail and urban terrain. The self-navigated format means the experience is unpredictable and demanding, shaped by each participant's route-finding decisions rather than a predetermined course.
