About The Drop - Shrewsbury
Taking place on 17 July 2027, The Drop is a navigation challenge based in Shrewsbury that sets participants an unusual task: finding their way back to The Loft Coffee House & Cakery from an undisclosed drop off location. Participants must hand over electronic devices and navigational aids before boarding a bus and being driven to the start point while wearing blackout blindfolds. The return distance is measured as the crow flies across terrain, and runners must navigate without maps, GPS, compasses or outside assistance.
Three distances are available: 6 miles, 10 miles and 15 miles. An emergency bag is sealed at the start and must remain intact throughout, with any recording devices stored inside. Participants should review the event FAQ for start times, cut off times and kit requirements before the race. The event centre is accessible by car (parking available in town), train (about a 10 minute walk away) or bus (approximately 5 minutes away).
