About The Endless Garden – Backyard Ultra Marathon
The Endless Garden Backyard Ultra takes runners to Saint Peter's Church in Ayot Green, Welwyn Hatfield, for a unique endurance challenge on 26 September 2026. This backyard ultra format sends participants around a 4-mile trail loop starting on each hour; the race continues until only one runner remains standing. The event is based at The Waggoners pub, which stays open throughout, offering a special athletes menu alongside regular bar refreshments to fuel runners between loops.
The course is designed as a safe, runnable trail suitable for overnight running. Spectators are encouraged to attend and can support runners from the pub throughout the event, which operates continuously until a winner emerges. A route map will be provided in advance.
