About The Hard Yard
The Hard Yard takes place at Chilton Manor Farm near Alresford in Hampshire, where an 800-year-old Yew avenue frames the start and finish. On 26 September 2026, the event hosts both a 10 mile trail race and a 1 km kids run across the family-owned venue.
The 10 mile route winds through wide gravel tracks, shale paths and field sidings, with single-track sections cutting through Furzedown Wood offering views toward Winchester and the South Downs. The final mile follows the distinctive tree-lined avenue back to the finish. Water stations are positioned at the start, finish and halfway point. The 1 km race provides a shorter option for younger runners.
Event facilities include race timing and photography, on-site medics, a pop-up cafe and toilets near the start and finish. Dogs are welcome at the event.
