About The Huddersfield Hurtle
The Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath provides the traffic-free setting for the Huddersfield Hurtle, a trail running event taking place on 13 February 2027 near Kirklees in West Yorkshire. Runners can choose from four distances: 5 km, 10 km, 13.1 miles or 26.2 miles, all following the same flat canal route and all fully licensed by the Trail Running Association.
The course is marshalled throughout with feed and drink stations positioned every 3 miles. Whether tackling the shortest distance or the full marathon, finishers receive a medal and treats. The flat terrain suits those chasing personal bests and those running a longer distance for the first time.
