The Intertidal takes runners across exposed tidal flats on an island with some of the world's most dramatic tidal ranges. This 27 km trail challenge on 15 August 2026 unfolds in South Lanarkshire during a rare window when the seabed emerges from the sea—a natural deadline that makes for genuinely unusual racing conditions.
The route passes six coastal landmarks across mixed surfaces where conditions shift with the exposed terrain. Runners navigate between two corners of the island, tackling terrain that demands as much tactical awareness as fitness.
