About THE LAP - Windermere Ultra Anticlockwise
The Lap Anticlockwise sends runners and walkers on a 47 mile circuit around England's largest lake. Based at Low Cunsey Farm near Ambleside, this trail ultra circumnavigates Lake Windermere over a 24 hour period from 11 to 12 September 2027. The route combines tracks, fell paths and quiet country roads at a low level around the lake, designed as both an introduction to ultra distance running and a faster option for experienced racers.
The predominantly trail-based route is comprehensively marked with over 2,500 waymarking arrows, supported by GPS tracking, detailed maps and GPX files provided at entry and before the event. Five feed stations along the way plus a halfway aid station keep participants fuelled, with generous cut-offs in place throughout. All finishers receive a meal and a locally sourced medal.
