Based at Stanmer Park in Brighton, the event uses sections of the South Downs Way, taking in climbs towards Ditchling Beacon, ridgelines, open downland and woodland tracks. Runners can choose from 5 km, 13 km or 13.1 miles, each mixing chalky downland tracks, twisting woodland paths and open farmland with notable elevation gain throughout.
The terrain is hilly and hard-packed with low technicality, though descents require care on the downland sections. On-course outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks as top-ups to what runners carry; participants should bring their own cup or bottle for refills. Parking is available at the University of Brighton (Falmer) with a walk to the event area, and Falmer train station is within short walking distance. The event is dog-friendly with limited spaces available.
