About The Maverick Hampshire Dark Gravel

This October trail race takes runners through Alice Holt Forest near Farnham, where woodland tracks and tree-lined avenues form the basis of a 5 km circuit. Participants complete one, two or three laps after dark, depending on which of the 5 km, 10 km or 15 km distances they've chosen, navigating the wide forest paths with a headtorch or chest torch.

An outpost staffed each lap provides snacks and hydration. The course is fully marked and timed, with online results and event photography available afterwards. Finishers receive a medal. Free parking and a bag drop area are on-site, and food and drink are available at the venue. The forest location sits about 4 miles from Farnham town centre and roughly 2 miles from Bentley train station, which has direct services to London Waterloo. Runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle; children under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult, and dogs are not permitted.
