About The Maverick Kielder Forest Gravel
The Maverick Kielder Forest Gravel takes runners and riders across mixed terrain through Kielder Forest in Northumberland on 5 September 2026. Fast forest trails and steady inclines feature throughout the course, which is fully marked and open to multiple distance options: 5 km, 12 km, 24 km, 41 km and 52 km.
Outposts along the route offer snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks as top-ups. The event runs on a plastic-free basis, so participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle. The longer routes—the 41 km and 52 km—operate under cut-off times for safety reasons and require mandatory kit including a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, at least 1 litre of water, 800 calories of food, self-adhesive bandage, whistle, foil blanket, hat or buff, a reusable cup and a GPX file of the route.
Parking, bag drop, timing, online results and event photography are available. Camping in the forest is offered for those staying over the weekend.
