About The Maverick Peak District Trail
The Maverick Peak District Trail takes runners across some of the region's most distinctive terrain on 5 June 2027. Starting from Bakewell Showground, the 50 km route heads into Peak District National Park, traversing high moorland, gritstone edges, steep climbs, river valleys, woodland trails, old railway lines and sections of the Pennine footpath. The course passes through Bamford, Hathersage, Curbar, Froggatt and Stanage.
Support points along the route offer sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks. The event operates on a cup-free basis at outposts, so runners should bring a refillable cup or bottle. The course is fully marked with on-course marshals, timing and online results provided. Runners are advised to carry at least 1 litre of water, a raincoat, a foil blanket and a mobile phone. Free parking and race pack collection on the morning of the event complete the logistics.
