About The Merthyr Half Marathon
Cyfarthfa in Merthyr Tydfil plays host to this half marathon on 4 April 2027, organised by Merthyr Running Club. The 13.1-mile route primarily follows road and tarmac, incorporating sections of the Trevithick Trail and Taff Trail along with a smaller trail section. Runners start and finish at Merthyr College, where baggage drop and toilet facilities are available.
The event operates a four-hour cut-off time. Finishers receive a medal, t-shirt and goody bag. Race packs can be collected on race day or the day before, rather than being posted out. The club also organises accompanying fun runs: a mini fun run for ages 4–7 (with adult supervision) at 8:45am and a junior fun run for ages 8–16 at 9:15am.
