About The Moors the Merrier
Across the moorlands of Calderdale in the South and West Pennines, runners take on The Moors The Merrier 21 on 12 December 2026. This fell race covers 21.1 miles of trail terrain with 1,220 metres of climb, running anticlockwise over Midgley Moor, Wadsworth Moor, Heptonstall Moor and Erringden Moor before returning via a valley climb to the finish at Hebden Bridge Golf Club. The minimum age is 18.
The event carries FRA kit requirements as a minimum, and given its Christmas timing, competitors must wear a Santa hat and bring a small present for the Bran Tub. Changing rooms with showers are available afterwards, along with an optional hot meal. Pre-entry is required, and team entries of three counters are accepted.
