About The MTC Oxford Ultra
The MTC Oxford Ultra is a 49-mile point-to-point trail race along the Thames Path, running from Oxford to Henley on Thames on 6 August 2027. Starting at Travelodge Oxford Abingdon Road, the route joins the Thames Path at Donnington Road Bridge and follows the river through Sandford, Culham and Cholsey before briefly leaving the waterside to pass through Moulsford. The course then continues past Streatley, Whitchurch on Thames and Tilehurst, with a detour through Purley Park, before finishing at The Catherine Wheel in Henley on Thames.
Three staffed checkpoints along the route provide water and basic nutrition including malt loaf, cake, sandwiches, dried fruit and sweets. Competitors can arrange to leave drop bags at checkpoints and should notify organisers of any dietary requirements. Runners must be self-sufficient for transport to the start and from the finish, and are required to carry a GPX device or downloaded route and a mobile phone. A minimum average pace of 4.0 miles per hour applies throughout.
