About The MTC Severn Way Ultra
The MTC Severn Way Ultra takes runners on a challenging 57-mile point-to-point route along the River Severn on 19 February 2028. Starting from Worcester and finishing near Stonehouse, the trail-based endurance race winds through Upton-on-Severn, Tewkesbury, Gloucester and several smaller villages, following the Severn Path through terrain that can become overgrown in places. Runners should prepare with GPX files for navigation and be ready for a sustained effort, as the event enforces a minimum pace of 4.0 miles per hour with mandatory checkpoint cut-offs.
Four checkpoint stations provide food and drink throughout the race, with vegan and gluten-free options available on request. Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a head torch, OS map or GPS device, compass, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and basic first aid supplies. As the event is cup-free, runners should bring their own reusable cup. Those requiring dietary support beyond what the checkpoints offer must label and carry their own supplies to each station.
