About The One by the Canal
The One by the Canal is a trail half marathon following the Grand Union Canal through country and woodland paths. Starting at Cowley Rec on 8 November 2026, the 13.1-mile route winds through the landscape before finishing in Cassiobury Park, Watford. The course is marked with signs throughout and staffed with marshals.
The event is based at an event village where runners can collect their race pack, access medical cover and facilities including a bag drop and food, and meet photographers. Water stations are positioned at approximately 5 km intervals along the route. Spectators are welcome to watch at the start, finish and around the course.
