About The Rasselbock Run - Sherwood Pines
Sherwood Pines, the Nottinghamshire forest managed by the UK Forestry Commission, hosts this six hour trail running challenge on 9 January 2027. Runners tackle a looped course through the woodland, with the option to complete as many circuits as possible within the time limit or settle for a single lap.
This event forms the Saturday component of a weekend double-header at the venue. The Sunday race uses the same forest loop but in the opposite direction, allowing runners to experience the terrain from a different perspective across the two days. All finishers receive a bespoke medal with a new design created for this edition.
The forest will undergo harvesting work in early 2027. Should this affect the route, organisers will provide an alternative course of similar length and character, with details communicated in advance.
