About The River Run - Adur District
The River Run takes runners through the Adur valley on trail terrain that blends riverside paths with countryside and town footpaths. The half marathon and 8 mile race both start and finish at Lancing College, following a route toward the Toll Bridge before joining the Downs Link trail to Upper Beeding. From there the course passes through the town, crosses a newly built bridge, runs behind Bramber Castle and returns along the opposite riverbank. Expect a mix of gravel paths, open countryside and light trail sections, with stiles featuring throughout.
Taking place on 15 August 2027, this event marks the final race of the 2027 South Coast Series. Both distances release runners in separate waves and the course is fully marshalled and professionally signed. The River Run returns to Lancing College as a new venue after previous sold-out years, introducing an 8 mile option alongside the half marathon distance.
