About The ROC Wales
The ROC Wales tests endurance across multiple disciplines on 8 May 2027, beginning and ending on Abersoch beach in Gwynedd. Competitors start with a sea swim in Abersoch bay, then cycle on road through undulating terrain into the Snowdon massif before tackling a mountain ascent via The Watkin Path to Wales' highest summit. The return journey retraces the mountain and road routes, finishing with a run back to the beach.
The full course covers 115 km with 5,825 ft of total ascent, including 3,330 ft to the summit. A shorter 12 km option is also available. The mountain section spans roughly 6 km uphill to the peak and back down again. The event combines swim, bike, mountain run, bike and run in sequence, suited to those comfortable moving between terrains and disciplines.
