About The Rusty Burner
The Rusty Burner is a new trail running event launched by Rusty Rails Farm CIC to bring together the local running community on Isle of Wight. Taking place on 23 August 2026 at Rusty Meadow in Godshill, the race offers 5 km and 10 km options over a looped country route that heads out towards the Worsley Monument and back. The course is uneven natural trail with sustained climbs, very steep descent steps and stiles throughout, climbing 738 feet in total, so neither distance is fast or flat. The Worsley Monument section is noted locally for its views.
The event is relaxed and community-focused, without chip timing. All finishers receive a Rusty Burner mug and water, and food including bacon butties and vegetarian options will be available at the finish. Optional camping at Rusty Meadow is offered for the night before. Participants must be aged 12 and over; under 16s need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. The race supports Lymphoma Action and fundraising for a community member selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree 2027.
