Runners and walkers tackling The Saltmarsh 75 on 4 October 2026 should prepare for a self-navigated challenge along the Essex coastline. The 75-mile trail follows the saltmarsh terrain between South Woodham Ferrers and Salcott, with seawalls and long grass underfoot. Whilst aid stations are positioned roughly every 10 to 15 km with hot food and drinks available at locations including Steeple and Tollesbury, the route itself is marked at key points only. Participants are expected to navigate using GPX files on a watch or with digital or printed maps, though GPS trackers provided to all entrants allow supporters to follow progress remotely.
This is a cupless event, so runners and walkers need to carry their own hydration vessels. Shuttle services are available between start and finish, and finishers receive a medal, t-shirt and goody bag. Both running and walking entries are welcome.
