Trail runners looking for a winter challenge will find it in the Seven Sins Run, a pair of races based at Wenchford Picnic Site in the Forest of Dean. The 7-mile route winds through undulating forest terrain, tackling seven named hills—Pride, Greed, Sloth, Lust, Gluttony, Wrath and Envy—across trails that may be muddy, wet, and icy. Those running with dogs can join canicross waves, while the Immortal Sinner offers a tougher test, requiring competitors to complete two laps of the seven-hill course with a 2-hour cut-off at the end of the first lap.
Taking place from 1 to 3 January 2027, the event is organised by a group of trail-running enthusiasts. A week before the race, participants receive detailed course notes and a full race brief. Parking at the site carries a charge, and car sharing is recommended due to limited space.
