About The South Hams Ultra
The South Hams Ultra takes runners on a trail tour of Devon's most striking landscape. Based at Mothecombe on the Flete Estate, the event traces the South Hams Way across public rights of way, bridleways, coastal paths and parts of Dartmoor National Park in an anti-clockwise loop that encompasses five estuaries. A ferry crossing is included as part of the route, with entry fees covered by the organisers.
Two distances are available on 10 and 11 October 2026: a 100 mile route with 4890 m of ascent and a 35 hour cut-off, and a 44 mile route with 1947 m of ascent and a 14 hour cut-off. Both start from different locations and finish at Mothecombe. The event is supported by GPS trackers, marshals, professional first aid cover, multiple checkpoints, bag drop and parking facilities. Runners should be aged 18 or over and prepared for trail running with appropriate footwear, navigation tools and weather-resistant kit.
