About The Spooky 5K Social Run - Roudham
The Spooky 5K Social Run takes runners across Roudham in Norfolk on the evening of 29 October 2026. This 5km trail run follows a marked loop combining footpaths, byways and highways, with the route crossing a railway line twice. Underfoot surfaces vary between roots, tarmac, stones and sand, with mud and puddles likely depending on weather conditions.
The event runs in very low light, so participants need to bring at least one torch or running lights. Two leaders guide the group—one setting the pace with the slowest runners and another leading from the front—though those running ahead are responsible for their own navigation. A route map and GPX file are provided. Fancy dress is welcome as long as costumes allow safe vision and movement.
Refreshments including hot and cold drinks and cake are available at the finish. A pre-event briefing with safety and parking details will be emailed to participants beforehand. The event is not suitable for under-16s, buggies, dogs, werewolves or vampires.
