About The Stoop
The Stoop takes runners across 8 km of trail terrain in Penistone Hill Country Park, near Haworth in the South Pennines, with 250 metres of ascent to navigate. This fell race, held on 20 December, forms part of the woodentops series and carries UK Athletics insurance through the FRA.
Competitors must be aged 16 or over. The course is accurately measured, with recorded course best times of 28:52 (male) and 35:13 (female). Both pre-entry and entry on the day are available. Teams are welcome, and junior races are also held as part of the event. Free coffee and biscuits are provided after the race.
