About The TFG Gin & Chocolate Trail Races
Trail runners looking for a Peak District adventure with a twist will find it at Errwood Reservoir on 19 September 2026. The Gin & Chocolate Trail Races offer 10 km and 18 km measured routes that climb from the reservoir into higher ground near the Cat & Fiddle Inn, passing through the Forest Distillery area. Runners gain VIP access to a supporters' area at the distillery and finish with a pre-mixed can from Forest Distillery and luxury chocolates from Buxton's Hot Chocolaterie.
The event is well-marshalled with professional timing, downloadable route maps, secure bag-drop and outdoor first aid cover. Overall male and female winners are recognised, along with a V50+ category. The races are TRA-licensed and run under UK Athletics rules. A portion of entry fees supports local food and drink suppliers, community venues and trail repair and nature recovery projects in the Peak District through partnership with the Peak District Foundation.
Runners must be aged 18 or over and a full mandatory kit list applies for safety, including waterproof clothing, off-road shoes, a spare layer, nutrition and emergency supplies, a foil blanket, charged mobile phone, minimum 500ml water and either a GPS device or map and compass.
