About The Three Counties Trot
The Three Counties Trot takes place in November across two days, with this 5 mile trail race hosted by Billinge Running Club on their local routes around Wigan, Lancashire. The course is described as scenic and varied, with some muddy sections, and runners will find the route marked with flags and signs with marshals in place. A race briefing and minute of silence in observance of remembrance weekend precede the start on the Janet Lalley fields.
Registration and event headquarters are based at The Delph Tavern, where bag drop and tea and coffee facilities are available. Car parking is located nearby at Upholland High School, a short walk from registration. After finishing, participants return to the Delph Tavern for post-race refreshments, socialising and the presentation of results and awards. A GPX file of the route is provided for those wanting to familiarise themselves beforehand. Donations for the British Heart Foundation are welcomed at registration and at the race start.
