About The Ultra Loop - Manchester
The Ultra Loop brings eight-hour trail running to Heaton Park in Manchester across two consecutive days. Participants tackle a measured 5.6 km circuit through the park's mix of road and woodland, with roughly 80 metres of elevation gain per lap. The route winds past Boating Lake, Heaton Hall and streams, though as it's not a closed course, runners may share the paths with walkers and dogs.
The event runs on Saturday 20 March 2027 and Sunday 21 March 2027, with the option to race one or both days. Those running both days see the course run in reverse on the second day, with their combined distance and results tracked separately on a weekend leaderboard. Each day has an eight-hour time limit, and participants receive a medal reflecting the laps and total distance completed. Facilities including a single aid station, bag drop and portaloos are based at the start and finish area. Runners aged 12 to 15 must be accompanied by a guardian.
