Runners looking for an endurance challenge set in woodland will find plenty to test themselves at The Ultra Loop. Taking place on 18 October 2026 at Delamere Forest near Northwich, this eight-hour event invites participants to complete as many 6km loops as possible within the time limit. Each circuit crosses gravel paths and forest trails, beginning with a climb to Old Pale Viewpoint before descending through the woodland and passing Blackmere Lake on the way back to the start.
The route is not closed to the public, so trail shoes are recommended for the mixed terrain. Runners begin at 09:00 and must finish by 17:00, with a single aid station at the start and finish point of each loop providing water and fuel. An aid station operates throughout the event village, and finishers receive a medal with their results chip-timed on the day.
