About The Winter Run to the Castle Ultra
This winter point-to-point follows a Welsh coastal trail from Aberdyfi to Harlech, mixing beach, tracks and pavements along the iconic route. Runners encounter Tywyn's seafront, the villages of Fairbourne and Barmouth, and the famous Fairbourne bridge on the way. Two distance options cater to different ambitions: the full 41.88 miles to Harlech castle town, or the 27-mile marathon-distance option ending at Barmouth.
The route eliminates the need to retrace steps, with direct train service returning finishers from Harlech to the start in under an hour. Four aid stations are positioned along the trail, supported by bag transfer and pre-race mapping to guide runners through this challenging winter challenge.
