About The Winter Wipeout!
This winter fell run demands serious preparation and resilience. The Winter Wipeout takes runners up to the summit of Hedgehope and back down over roughly 13.1 miles of trail terrain on 9 January, based at Ingram Cafe in Northumberland. Winter conditions are guaranteed—previous editions have brought sleet, snow and strong winds—so participants need to be ready for whatever weather arrives.
The course is fully marked and marshalled throughout. Runners are advised to carry all essential winter kit, as conditions can be severe at any time. Those who make it back to the finish receive soup and support from the organisers. This is a challenge for experienced fell runners prepared to push themselves in demanding winter conditions.
