About The Woldsman
The Woldsman is a 32 mile trail event across the Yorkshire Wolds, organised by LDWA - East Yorkshire and based at Driffield Showground. Taking place on 3 April 2027, participants must complete the route within 12 hours, starting and finishing at the showground.
Checkpoints along the route provide food and drink, including vegetarian options. Entrants must carry specific kit including an Ordnance Survey Explorer map (294, 295 or 300), compass, waterproofs, first aid kit, survival bag, drinking mug and extra warm clothing. A route description and GPX file are made available approximately one week before the event. Retirements can only be made at checkpoints, and early starts are not permitted.
Free car parking is available at the showground, with basic camping also offered from Friday to Sunday. Participants receive a badge, certificate and meal at the finish. Because sections of the route cross private land, the full route should not be recced before event day.
