About The Yomp - Super Saturday
The Yomp returns for its 42nd running across three days of trail racing in the Upper Eden Valley, with events to suit all abilities. Saturday's Super Saturday is the main event, featuring four races from 10 km to 65 km over terrain that takes in Wild Boar Fell, Mallerstang Edge, the Nine Standards and sections of the Pennine Way and Coast-to-Coast route.
The 65 km ultra and 26.2 mile marathon are serious tests of endurance across some of the most dramatic fell country in the north, while the 20 km and 10 km offer equally scenic but more accessible challenges. All Saturday races start and finish at Basecamp at The Engine Shed in Kirkby Stephen. Competitors are GPS tracked throughout for safety, with feed stations positioned along the longer routes and a hot meal waiting at the finish.
The weekend also includes a Friday evening 10 km guided jog and walk, and a family-friendly 5 km on Sunday. Live music, speakers, catering and a bar run through the three days, with camping available.
