About Three Forts Challenge
The Three Forts Challenge has been drawing runners to the South Downs since 1977, earning itself the nickname "The Tough One" along the way. Held annually on the rolling hills around Worthing, this trail running event centres on Lancing Manor Leisure Centre and offers runners a countryside experience with coastal views across Sussex's landscape.
The 5-mile trail route takes place on Sunday 2 May 2027. Entry supports Ferring Country Centre and local Sussex charities, with profits directed to these organisations. The event welcomes runners to tackle the course solo or with a canine companion, and maintains a community-focused atmosphere that has defined the race across its decades of running.
