About Three Shires Fell Race
Fell runners with solid navigation skills and mountain craft experience will find the Three Shires Fell Race a demanding 21.7 km challenge across Lake District terrain. Starting and finishing at Tilberthwaite Farm near Coniston on 26 September 2026, the course climbs 1648 metres through varied fell country with a new route introduced from 2025.
This category AL race requires entrants to be aged 18 or over and capable of navigating independently using map, compass and other mountain skills. Teams of three are welcome to enter, and the field is limited to 350 runners. Recent course records stand at 2:07:27 for men and 2:55:21 for women.
