About Tiree Ultramarathon
This 35 mile trail ultramarathon circumnavigates the island of Tiree, starting and finishing at Scarinish Beach Hotel by the harbour. The clockwise route keeps the sea on the runner's left throughout, passing 14 beaches en route, with Gott Bay marking the final and longest stretch of sand on the course. Navigation between checkpoints is straightforward, supported by route arrows and an event team to ensure runners stay on track.
Taking place on 6 September 2026, the event operates from the Scarinish Hotel as race headquarters for the weekend. Runners can enter individually or as two-person relay teams and must complete the course within 10 hours. All finishers receive a course map, technical t-shirt, medal and goodie bag. The weekend includes prize giving and an island ceilidh on Sunday evening, with food and live music at the hotel.
