About Tissington Trail Half Marathon Sunday
The Tissington Trail Half Marathon has become a popular fixture in the running calendar, with races held across a weekend to meet demand. Taking place on 20 September 2026, this edition starts at Parsley Hay and follows the traffic-free Tissington Trail for 13.1 miles back to Ashbourne in the Derbyshire Dales.
The route traces a former railway line through countryside, running slightly downhill virtually throughout. Runners are transported by coach from Ashbourne to the starting point, making this a point-to-point course that suits runners of all abilities. The trail remains open to other users including walkers, cyclists and horse-riders during the race.
