About Tough Mutter
Tough Mutter is an obstacle course event designed for dogs and their owners, held on 25 October 2026 at Aske estate near Richmond in North Yorkshire. Participants can choose between 5 km and 10 km trail routes that wind through marsh, bog, woodland, rough hilly ground and fields, with numerous man-made obstacles throughout the course.
The obstacles are clearly marked to indicate which can be tackled with a dog, which the owner must complete alone, and which the team can decide on together. Each obstacle includes a tie-up point for dogs while owners navigate individual challenges. The course features obstacles with multiple components including climbing, jumping, wading, swinging and crawling. Near the finish, an 850 metre assault section presents deep mud, water and more than 24 obstacles in quick succession.
