About Tower To Castle Ultra
Tower to Castle Ultra takes runners on a 31-mile coastal trail journey from Blackpool Tower to Lancaster Castle. The point-to-point route along the coastal way includes a ferry crossing from Fleetwood to Knott End, with group capacity managed for this section.
The trail passes through a mix of terrain including urban areas and road crossings. Participants have eight hours to complete the distance, with support provided at three checkpoints stocked with water, cordial and snacks. A kit check is required before the start, with mandatory items including a waterproof coat with sealed seams, long sleeved base layer, water bottle or bladder of at least 1 litre capacity, fully charged mobile phone, foil blanket and whistle. Entry is by pre-registration only and restricted to those aged 18 or over. Route information and a GPX file are supplied before the event.
