About Trafford Trails 5
Trafford Trails 5 follows the River Mersey through Salford and Sale, beginning at Trafford MV Rugby Club and threading through woodland at Kickety Brook before reaching Stretford Meadow. Organised by Dragons Running Club, this 5-mile trail race has run each summer since 2017, taking runners along riverside paths, hard packed trails and a short tarmacked section, with mostly flat terrain punctuated by a ramp to a bridge and a small climb near Stretford Meadows. Almost entirely off-road, the course becomes muddy after heavy rain in places.
The race takes place on 12 July 2027. The venue offers parking adjacent to the start, changing facilities and a bar. Dane Road Metrolink stop is about 15 minutes' walk away, and the 263 bus stops roughly 10 minutes from the site. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and licensed by the Trail Running Association.
