About Trail Escape Edinburgh
Trail Escape takes runners out of Edinburgh's city centre and into the Pentland Hills on a 25 km or marathon distance trail route. Starting and finishing at Saughton Park, the event follows traffic-free green corridors that lead away from the urban landscape and climb into the hills before retracing the same path back to the finish.
The out-and-back format means runners experience the route in both directions, with the return journey following the same trails back towards the city. Both distances depart on 12 September 2026.
