About TrailFest - Holdenby House
TrailFest takes runners across the private Holdenby estate in West Northamptonshire on 13 September 2026, using a traffic-free course of farm track, field edge and a small woodland section. The route incorporates branches and logs to navigate through the wood, while generally rolling terrain offers open views across the landscape with one noticeable hill.
Two distances are available: a 10 km option and a 50 km event, both following laps of the same course sections that start and finish between the Basecourt Arches. Shoe choice depends on recent conditions—road shoes suit dry weather, while trail shoes are advisable after heavy rain. Free grass parking is available adjacent to the venue, with the site roughly 15 minutes from Junction 18 of the M1 (postcode NN6 8DJ) and accessible from Northampton or Long Buckby stations by car. Crew members are welcome, though pacers are restricted to the final 100 metres. Spectators may attend but should remain off the trail. Dogs are not permitted.
