About Trailwalker
The Trailwalker follows the South Downs Way, a 100 km trail route across East Hampshire that winds over chalk hills. This team endurance event runs from 11 to 13 September 2026, with standard four-person teams working to complete the distance within 30 hours. A new Relay option allows larger teams of 6 to 12 participants to share the same route.
Support crews play a central role, meeting their teams at manned checkpoints dotted along the course where water and resupply stops are available. The event provides printed route guides, fully signed directions, checkpoints with toilets, showers at the finish at Brighton Racecourse, and hot meals at designated stations including a Gurkha curry at the end.
Trailwalker combines the physical challenge of the distance with fundraising for The Gurkha Welfare Trust, which supports Gurkha veterans, their families and communities. Members of the Brigade of Gurkhas and volunteers staff checkpoints throughout the event. Route GPX files and an event guide are available to help teams prepare.
