About Ultra X Wales
Ultra X Wales takes place across 24 and 25 July 2027 as a multi-distance trail event in the Brecon Beacons near Abergavenny, Powys. Runners navigate rolling hills, valleys and wild upland terrain through a newly designed course. The event is graded 4/6 for difficulty and 3/5 for technicality, with typical temperatures between 14 and 22°C.
The race is recognised as a UTMB® Index Race across its 100k, 50k and 20k distances. Participants have access to GPX files for their chosen route, timing and live tracking throughout the weekend. Those completing all three Great British Slam events (Ultra X Wales, Scotland and England) within a calendar year receive special recognition, with awards presented at the finish of Ultra X England.
Camping is available at Llangorse Activity Centre for the nights before and during the race weekend. Registered participants receive a detailed Race Pack with timings and cut-off information one month ahead of the event.
