About UWFRA Wharfedale 3 Peaks Challenge
Trail running through the Wharfedale valley, this annual fundraiser for Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association offers three route options across fell terrain with extensive valley views. The 5 mile, 14 mile and 17 mile courses start and finish in Kettlewell village, welcoming runners and walkers of good fitness to the peaks and ridges of the area.
The shortest route follows the Dalesway along the River Wharfe to Starbottom before returning via the Paradise Walk, with a chance to see rescue equipment and Landrovers at the finish. Water stations are positioned at Buckden village and the Tor Dike/Park Rash road crossing; participants should bring their own water containers. Dogs are permitted on the valley walk but not on the fell courses. Now in its 14th year, all proceeds support the operational costs of the local mountain rescue team.
