About Viper 5 Mile Trail Run
This 5 mile trail run takes runners around Brentwood on the autumn anti-clockwise route, starting and finishing at The Viper on Mill Green Road in Ingatestone. The course is self-sufficient, so participants need to carry their own water and provisions, and must bring a phone and headtorch; high visibility clothing and waterproofs are recommended given variable weather conditions. A tail runner is available to help with navigation if needed.
The event takes place on 24 September 2026 and is limited to 50 places for adults aged 18 and over on a first come first served basis. It runs under TRA Permit 8449. Mass start format applies, and at the finish, race numbers are exchanged at the bar for a drink of choice. Food is available at The Viper and The Cricketers, with advance booking recommended for meal orders. Parking is available opposite the pub with limited space, or a free public car park in Mill Green is about a ten minute walk away; bike racking is provided and car sharing is encouraged.
