About Wadsworth Half Trog
Calderdale's moorlands provide the setting for this fell race across terrain that echoes the longer Trog course. The Wadsworth Half Trog covers 9.3 miles (15 km) with approximately 1,400 feet of ascent, taking place on 8 November 2026. Runners should expect muddy conditions and partially flagged sections, with only the final stretch from checkpoint 8 onwards and some intermediate checkpoints clearly marked.
Based in Old Town, the race operates under Fell Runners Association rules as a non-GPS event. Mandatory kit including waterproof jacket and trousers, hat or buff, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food will be checked before race start. GPS devices may be used to record routes but not for navigation unless declared as a non-competitive entry in an emergency. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
