About Wansfell Fell Race
Held on Boxing Day, the Wansfell Fell Race takes runners into the Lake District fells above Ambleside. This 4 km trail race climbs 405 metres, making for a testing ascent across Lakeland terrain. The race starts on the road behind the Salutation Hotel at the bottom of Stock Ghyll Lane.
The event is FRA-permitted and competitors must carry full FRA kit as required. Registration takes place on the morning at Force Cafe, Kelsick Grammar. Entry is by pre-entry only, with no day-of registration available. The minimum age to compete is 16, and teams are welcome.
